Psoriasis

psoriasis on elbows

Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that creates red, itchy and scaly patches on the skin. Outbreaks are most likely to occur on the knees, elbows, torso and scalp. Psoriasis can occur in people of any age, and most often occurs in cycles of flares and remission.

Signs of psoriasis include red patches on the skin, scaly skin, pitted or ridged nails, dry and cracked skin, and even joint swelling or stiffness. A variety of types of psoriasis exist, some affecting only the fingernails and toenails and others causing discomfort throughout your body.

While no cure exists for psoriasis, highly effective treatments are now available. Depending on the type of psoriasis, treatments can include topical treatments like steroid creams, light therapy, and injectable medications. Our treatment goal for you is to keep you clear or almost clear of psoriasis with a comprehensive treatment regimen.
